How do I Join a Village?
To Join a Village, create a profile, and find the person you want to support. View their needs and choose how you want to help them.
What if I get an email from Join My Village but I have not created a profile?
All profiles must be verified by your email address, so if you were sent a notification in error, do not reply, no action is needed.
What kind of needs can I post?
Needs are posted at the village creator’s discretion.
You can create your own specific needs and there are options including:
- Borrowed Items
- Meals
- Housework/Yardwork
- Laundry
- Amazon Wishlist
- Monetary Donations through Venmo, Paypal, Cash App
How do I know that I have created a profile or volunteered for a need?
You will receive a verification email after creating a profile or volunteering for a need.
How can I keep my village private?
When creating a village, you will be required to choose between a public or private village.
Who will have access to my address?
Any needs that require your physical address must be approved by the village creator before the volunteer receives this information.
Why Join My Village
Join My Village was created out of a personal need for a village during a difficult time. We aim to make managing tasks easier and create a space that makes helping others easier.
What if I no longer have a need?
You may cancel needs at any time for any reason. If the need has already been assigned, an email will be sent to the profile creator notifying them that the need is cancelled.
What if I can no longer fulfill a need?
You may cancel your offer at any time. An email will be sent to the profile creator notifying them that you have cancelled your availability.
What happens to my account when I no longer need it?
You may delete your village at any time. Go to My Villages and select the one you would like to delete. On the bottom right there is an option to permanently delete the selected village.
